Jennifer & Jeremy's maternity shoot

What a joy it was to receive a phone call from Jennifer a week or so ago. We'd done Jennifer & Jeremy's engagement, bridal and wedding photos back in 2009 so when Jennifer called to say they were pregnant and could we do some maternity photos, we were delighted. We drove to their house on a chilly January day and loved capturing these quiet moments.

Rachel & Kevin

First wedding of the year was Rachel & Kevin. They were married on a bright, chilly day-- the first day of the new year, in fact. Coincidentally, Rachel's sister was married the very evening before. . . a wedding we'd actually been asked to photograph but had turned down because of previous plans. . . we didn't know this of course until we arrived at the wedding and with a finger pointed towards us, the bride's sister said "You! We wanted you for our wedding last night!" Thus began the chaotic and beautiful dance that is pt 2 of a family wedding extravaganza. This 'Gospel Picture' as the bride and groom called it was complete with 6 sister bridesmaids and forgotten corsage pins. But everyone was pretty laid back and ready for anything and after the ceremony, all trooped next door and gathered in a gym that had been beautifully decorated with pine trees and white Christmas lights.

It was quite the day to remember.
